Continuing to prove them wrong!

Jordyn had an evaluation today with ECI (Early childhood intervention). Today a speech therapist, occupational therapist, and another evaluator came to our house to acess Jordyn's progress. At her big 6 month multidiciplinary check up, they refered her to see these guys and get evaluated because she was showing a little concern, developmentally. Well they came today and had her do a bunch of stuff, and she blew them out of the water buy not only doing 8 month things, but stuff that is for older babies too. Also, she crawled for the first time, right there in front of them!!! We said "we are a little concerned she isn't even close to crawling yet" then out of nowhere she starts pulling herself around! Her belly isn't off the floor, but it is considered crawling! We also were concerned because she was never using her left hand, unless it was in conjunction with her right, but of course, today, in front of them, she was actually using her left hand more than her right. She still has some trouble with her bottle, but they are not worried since she is 8 months and doing soooo well with solids. She stuffs her face when it comes to solid food, so they just said "maybe she prefers solids and that will make it easy when its time to quit the bottle". After she was done showing off, they said after the evaluation, she does not qualify for ECI!!!! This is great news! This means as of now, she will only be seeing her special pediatrician, and her neurologist! They did say if we ever felt a need, she is in the system and can be re-evaluated at any time, hopefully we will not have to though.

Getting in shape!

Like most of you probably we have made a few "new year's resolutions." Our main one is to do more active stuff together as a family. We are going to start going on hikes again like we did when we first got married and had Abby, but we haven't done any since we got to Texas. Eventually we would like to save up and get new bikes as well and start back up bike riding, which we haven't done since we had Abby. Once summer comes the pool in our community will be done as well and we will be swimming most days. Also Stacy and the girls joined an awesome gym right around new years (since they dont have daycares at the one on base). She takes the girls usually 4x a week. She is super excited because she is already noticing a difference and its only been about 2.5 weeks. Now all she is asking for her birthday (hint hint) is workout clothes (which is Feb 6th by the way :) ) Anyways, just wanted to give a short update on the family and our goals for the next few months.

New Pics of Jordyn

Jordyn is now almost 8 months old! We just can not believe how fast time has gone by these past few months. She is probably about 16 lbs right now and 27 inches is our guess. We will find out next month at her 9 month check up. Right now she is wearing 3-6 and 12 month clothes. She is rolling all over the place. That is how she gets to where she wants to be...just rolls. She isnt' showing much intrest in crawling. She will scoot backwards on her tummy, and once in a while pop up on her hands and knees and rock. She loves to bounce on anything and everything. She is starting to get very clingy, especially with Stacy. Other than that though, she is a great baby. More than anything she loves playing with Abby. The two of them are inseperable. Most of her feeding issues are resolving and she is now taking solids very well, including most table foods. She will eat pretty much anything you put in front of her. Well that is all for now. These pics are from our backyard from a few days ago.

What is this??? I am standing!

New pics of Abby

Abby is now a whoppin 3 years old! She had a great year! She was ecstatic to be joined by her new baby sister, got to visit with her cousins and family in California for the summer, got to visit Disneyland, and have 2 birthday parties! She is now about 26 lbs or so and 32 inches I believe. She is starting to finally catch up to where she should be as far as size. She wears mostly 2T stuff right now and a size 6 or 7 shoe. This kid is amazingly smart, and you would know just by talking to her for say...1 minute! Nothing gets past her and there are no secrets if she is around. It is like she knows what you are thinking sometimes. She pretty much knows her ABC's, can count to 20, sometimes higher, knows all her shapes, colors, and almost any animal you show her. She loves being outside, playing with her toys and games, and her absolute favorite things are cooking and doing crafts with mommy. She wants to help with EVERYTHING. Sometimes it makes things take 10x longer because of that, but its worth it to see how much she is growing up and the beautiful young lady she is becoming!
Here are a few pics of Abby doing what she does best...Modeling and acting silly!

Kids Club

Stacy and her friend Sara decided to join a really great gym a few weeks ago. They were super motivated and found an awesome gym with an awesome kids club for the girls. Here are some pictures of Abby getting ready to head off to kids club, and a picture of what the place looks like. She loves going and gets so excited when we tell her we are going.

Kids club: I couldn't even get the whole thing in one picture, but this is the coolest part!
